CLASS 6A HOME LEARNING 26.03.2020
Well, I can’t believe it’s Thursday already. The week seems to be whizzing by for me and I hope it is for you too.
You all need to have a look at day 4 of your maths 10 for 10 booklet toady and complete the questions to the best of your ability. You should be well and truly into the swing of this by now.
The comprehension task today is the Poem – ‘The charge of the Light Brigade’. Make sure you take the time to read it carefully and then answer the questions in the booklet provided. It should take between 20 mins to half an hour to complete as it is quite a long poem.
For the reading task today, why not have a look at some of the tasks you haven’t completed yet e.g.
Write down and check the meaning (in a dictionary or online dictionary) of at least three unfamiliar words from the book –you could do more if there are more new words you don’t know the meanings of.
I also like the idea of writing some quiz questions about the book e.g.
Who left Prince Florian alone in the forest? How much was he paid?
What happened to Baron Stelgratz?
Complete as many of the reading tasks as you like as some of them could be quite short.
Why not try one of the writing opportunities as well. You can do them in any order you like – just use the exercise book to write it in. If you want to cut the picture out, stick it in and write underneath then that’s fine but you don’t have to – simply give your writing a title and remember to try and include the Year 6 punctuation, vocabulary and grammar that we should have in a piece of written work.
Oh, and don’t forget to find a quiet twenty minutes where you can just read to yourself.
