Good morning Reception class

Where has all that lovely sunshine gone? What a shame. I hope that you and your families are all well and keeping safe. I also hope that you are doing something every day from the learning pack and from the website.

Your task today is to get a big pile of books. They don’t all have to be your books – just a pile that is big enough so you can do some adding and taking away. See if you can make some number cards out of paper. Write each number 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 on their own piece of paper. Once you have made your cards, turn them over so you can’t see the numbers. Pick 2 cards up and add them together using the books as counting equipment. Write your sums out using the + and = symbols. Then take the smaller number away from the bigger number. Write the take away calculation using the – and = symbols. You can do as many of these as you want to. The more you do, the better you are going to get. Ask your mummy or someone else to tick them for you to see if you got them right.

Then you can write your news.

This is my news for today.

I cannot go to church at the moment so I went on my laptop and watched my church service on there instead. Then I watched another church service from a different church. I felt very happy after I had done some singing and praying but I did feel a bit silly singing church songs on my own in my bedroom! I am teaching my daughter Jess how to cook before she goes to university. She will have to cook for herself when she lives there so I am spending this time teaching her to cook some tasty food. She isn’t very happy about it but she will thank me when she is eating a tasty tea every night. Tonight I am teaching her how to make lasagne. Delicious!
