Good morning everybody.

Today we are looking at poetry. Read the poem below and try to answer the questions in your exercise book. If you follow this link you will be able to see a video of it being read.

This is a fantastic new place to go for your daily lessons and if you can find BBC bitesize on your computer or your television we will be able to use lots of the programmes together. I will let you know on here which ones I want you to watch. Don't worry if you can't find them I will still be writing daily lessons on here and I have made a new pack of work for you. I spoke to lots of you yesterday but if I missed you just ask a grown up to ring school and they will be able to arrange for you to get your pack.

For now, read this poem a couple of times, listen to Oti read it and answer the questions. Then have a look at some of the other daily lessons set for today.

Try this activity on three digit numbers.

Place value.

We use place value headings like 10, 100, 1000. These help us do sums and see which numbers are bigger than others. A number is made of one or more digits.

Please Mrs Butler

Please Mrs Butler This boy Derek Drew Keeps copying my work, Miss. What shall I do?

Go and sit in the hall, dear. Go and sit in the sink. Take your books on the roof, my lamb. Do whatever you think.

Please Mrs Butler This boy Derek Drew Keeps taking my rubber, Miss. What shall I do?

Keep it in your hand, dear. Hide it up your vest. Swallow it if you like, my love. Do what you think best.

Please Mrs Butler This boy Derek Drew Keeps calling me rude names, Miss. What shall I do?

Lock yourself in the cupboard, dear. Run away to sea. Do whatever you can, my flower. But don’t ask me!

Answer the questions below by pointing to the answer in the poem.

Don't just guess the answer - you must show where you found it.

Top tip!

Each question will follow the order of the poem so start at the top.
