Acts of Kindness:

The children and staff at Holy Trinity Primary have spent all term thinking about kindness and carrying out acts of kindness in our community. Children in our Infants have handed out cards wishing local people a happy day in Darwen town centre whilst the Reception class invited friends and family for a tea party. The choir has performed at St Peters’ Church in support of Age UK and sang Christmas carols at Darwen market to spread some Christmas cheer among the shoppers. Children visited Willow Gardens Residential Home for the Elderly and played old and new games with the residents. Our Junior children painted stones, wrote encouraging messages on them and left them in Bold Venture park for local people to find. Years 5 and 6 have spent weeks collecting items for the homeless of Darwen and donated them to the Darwen food bank in time for Christmas (see photo). The impact on the children has been far reaching as they have shown acts of kindness to their friends and family at home and at school. We are so pleased with the impact that it has had on our school, that we are extending our project for the whole year. The people of Darwen can look forward to the children of Holy Trinity showing many more acts of kindness next year.
