History Day

April 24, 2019

What a fantastic history day we had!  We spent the day studying the Stone Age. We started the day with some historical enquiry, all the children wrote a question on a fire flame showing what they would like to know by the end of the day. We had lots of good questions including

~what is the Stone Age?

-What did they eat?

-Why is it called the Stone Age?

-  Was it after Jesus?

- What did people eat?

-What did children play with?

We then looked at picture and information and tried to answer each other's questions before  sitting together and sharing our findings.

Later in the day we learnt about Stone he be and practiced the skill of mixing paint from light to dark. With our eyes found skill we created backgrounds for our pictures.

In the afternoon we learnt about jewellery, food. Caves and communication. The children all created their own teeth and bone necklace out of salt dough and went inside our caves to do some cave drawing. I'm very impressed by both the skills and the knowledge the children picked up. What a fun filled fantastic day
