Maths

April 24, 2019

What a busy week we have had in maths. We began  learning about size and length, ordering objects in size, we then looked at how using a start line can help us when ordering. We were them ready to start measuring, we used different objects as our units. The children measured in coins, paper clips, cubes and post it notes.  We did a mathematical investigation on measurement and we discussed which objects we should have all got the same measurements for and which measurements we might expect to have different results. The children ended the week working in their inspire books using cm squares as their unit to count the higher and length of objects. Inspire maths always scaffolds our children whilst extending the boundaries of their learning.
