CLASS 4/5J HOME LEARNING 04.05.2020

Good morning,

I hope you all had a lovely weekend.

I have done some baking, some gardening and tried to give Watson the dog a haircut!

This morning I would like you to have a look in your pack and find this sheet.

It shows you how many people learn to communicate with finger spelling. Have a careful look, read the next sheet and then try to answer the questions in your blue book. Write the date and then answer in your best handwriting. After you have written your answers try to learn how to sign your name and other words, maybe even a sentence.

Next look at the list of spellings in your pack.

By now you should have a list of the ones you don't know. Take ten of them and write them down one side of a page in your blue book. Look carefully at them, cover one up and then have a go at writing it again. Check it, look carefully at the parts you got wrong and then try again. Just like you used to with your usual weekly spellings. Now take each word and try to write a sentence with it in. This is a good chance for you to think, say, write and check sentences. Have you used the correct punctuation and is it your neatest writing.

Have a break then do 20 minutes reading. Either the book from your pack, the next chapter of ,"The Golden Apple Tree" on Purple Mash.

Next you should have two sheets left to do in your maths packs, they are called, Comparing Numbers and Ordering numbers. Have a go, read the questions carefully and remember that ascending needs going up and descending means going down.

This afternoon should be music so I would like you to choose a musical activity from the grid in your pack or have another go at learning the song that Mrs Bolton wants us to learn when we get back. You should be able to find it here.

I can't wait to hear how it sounds when we are all back together again. If you have had a chance to listen to one of your favourite songs today write me a quick email telling me what it was called, which instruments you can hear and describing how it makes you feel. This is one of mine, I can only hear one instrument and one voice but it makes me happy when I listen to it and it reminds me of all the people I love.

Have a great day, stay safe and stay in touch,

Mrs Jenkins.😊
