CLASS 5/6C HOME LEARNING 13.05.2020
I hope you had chance to pick up your new learning packs from school. There are lots of new challenges in them for you to have a go at. Do not rush them as they should last until May half term. Let's try and keep focused and trying our best.
Today I would like you to complete some independent reading at home. This could be a book you are reading or a new book. Search for any new vocabulary.
Summarise what you read in a paragraph.
Watch the video below by following the link.
This is Toki, Toki’s tribe expects him to bring home the head of the biggest animal possible. In return, he will receive honour and respect. However, the hunt does not turn out as planned. With the help of a colourful new friend, he achieves something much bigger. I want you to imagine where Toki lives in the Rainforest.
What would his home be like?
What will he eat?
What does he wear?
Why does he have to get the head of the biggest animal he can find?
How does he feel about this?
I want you to write a diary entry for a day in the life of Toki. Tell me about what happens from walking up to going to sleep. Remember a diary should be written in first person (I,we.) Really take your time with this, I want it to include lots of information and Year 5 and 6 vocabulary. Use an online thesaurus.
As an extra challenge, can you create a map of Toki's village?
Today I would like you to have a go at equivalent fractions. Remember equivalent means the same. This could be simplifying, finding factors or multiples of a number. Watch the video and have a go at the task.
I really hope you enjoy this Maths game yesterday, I have kept the link there in case you want another go.
Lets have a go at coding today! Follow the link above and choose an activity. Follow the instructions and see if you can complete the task.
We have lots of online work today but this doesn't mean you can not complete tasks from your pack. These tasks are extra as everyone has different packs.
I hope you enjoy this work today and that we are learning new things still.
Stay safe everyone!
