Dear Parents,

It is with a very heavy heart that I write to you this morning with the news that we will not be able to open our school more widely to the Reception class on Monday. We were incredibly happy to be starting the process of welcoming back more of our children, starting with Reception. Our site staff, office staff and teaching staff have worked incredibly hard to prepare the school. However, last night at 9.30pm, I received the following message:

The Director of Public Health has advised all schools in Blackburn with Darwen to delay their wider opening until at least 22 June in response to the regional rise in the R rate. Therefore we unfortunately will not be starting our phased opening from Monday 8th June as planned.

As a result, we will be moving back the start date for our Reception children and those of Y1 and Y6 until it is safe to do so. The safety of our children, their families and staff is of paramount importance.

We will continue to be open for our agreed Key Worker and vulnerable children.

If you require any support or need to talk to us feel free to get in touch during school hours.

You continue to be in our thoughts and prayers.

Kind regards

Kathryn Bolton

Head Teacher
