Dear Parents/Carers,

It has been wonderful to have our children back in school these last few days. They have settled well and are getting used to the new routines. Thank you for your support as we navigate our way through these challenging times.

Now that we have had a few days of our new staggered start and finish times, we have reviewed what is working and what needs tweaking. Thank you for following all the instructions we have been giving about the pick up areas and waiting zones. In our review, we have recognized that there are a few issues that mean the current system isn’t working as well as we had hoped. These are mainly around the issue of siblings having different times and being on different playgrounds. We also want to maximize all the teaching time that we can as we support our children to catch up on anything they have missed during lock down. In the light of these issues we have a new plan in place which will take effect from this Thursday 10th September.

Reception, Y1/2, Y3 and Y4 will start at 8.50 and finish at 3.20.

Reception will enter and leave via the Reception outdoor area. Y1/2 via the Infant Yard, Y3 and Y4 via the top yard on Borough Road. If a child from Y3 or Y4 has a sibling in Reception or Y1/2, they may enter the school via hall door on the Infant Yard when their sibling is being dropped off. At the end of the day these children can be picked up from the Infant yard at 3.20 from designated coned areas.

Y5/6 J and Y5/6 A will start at 9.00 and finish at 3.30. They will enter and leave via the top yard on Borough Road.

If you have children in Y5/6 and in KS1/Reception, you will have time to walk round from the Infant playground to the top yard. Unfortunately, due to the Covid restrictions, we are unable to let you cut through the asto-turf, you will have to go via Borough Road.

Thank you for bearing with us through these changes as we work out the best way forward. Our priority is always keeping our children safe in these uncertain times of Covid whilst providing them with the best possible education. If you have any questions, staff will be on hand to direct you for the first few days as we all get used to the new routine.

Kind regards

Mrs Bolton
