Class 5/6J Home Learning 12.01.2021

Remote Learning for 5/6J Tuesday 12th January

The Patchwork Path: A Quilt Map To Freedom.

This morning we will look at the front cover and the blurb again. You could write your answers in an email or you could download the task from purple mash, open the word document, enable editing and write your answers in it

What do you think the front cover tells you about what you can expect the story to be about?

Can you name the author and the illustrator? What do you think a quilt map is?

How many adjectives can you find on this page?

Does this blurb make you want to read the story?

How does it do this?

Next we will think about how the quilt gives clues in chronological order. When we write we often want to put things in the order in which they happen. Can you complete this piece of writing by adding time conjunctions which help show the order that things happened? Try to use a variety of words, not just, “then.”

You can type this in an email or write it out in your best handwriting in your exercise book
