Latest News on School Opening
We do hope you have all had a good Christmas and wish you a Happy New Year.
You may be aware of the news that Unions have advised their members that, due to the dramatic rise in cases of the new strain of Covid 19 and the fact that this new strain is considerably more contagious, that it is not safe for them or the children to return to full classrooms in school. In the light of this we have had to make the decision that we are not able to open school to all children on Tuesday as planned. This decision has not been taken lightly and has been made with the best interests of our children, families and staff at heart. School will only be open for vulnerable children and those of Key Workers for the next 2 weeks. All other learning will be delivered remotely. It is the expectation that all children not attending school will access remote learning. We will send out more information regarding this tomorrow.
If you are a Key Worker and require your children to attend school, please contact the office tomorrow between 8.45am and 12.15pm to request a place. If your child is considered vulnerable due to SEN or other needs, you will be contacted via telephone tomorrow morning.
I am very sorry that this information is so late but we have been working hard all day with unions, the governors and the local authority to make the right decision for our school and our children. We will send out more detailed information tomorrow regarding the reasons and to inform you of the provision for remote learning.
Stay safe everyone.
