Send Provision for children at Holy Trinity C of E Primary School

Holy Trinity is an inclusive school, which offers a broad, balanced and differentiated curriculum for all its pupils. Some children have a special educational need, which means special provision is made to accommodate their needs. This may be because of a learning difficulty, a health issue, a disability or emotional and behavioural difficulties.

At Holy Trinity we:

  • Use our best endeavours to make sure that a child with SEN gets the support they need.

  • Ensure that children with SEN engage in the activities of the school alongside pupils who do not have SEN

Mrs Gavin - Nurture Provision Specialist / ELSA

Our school, like all others is required to provide help at the earliest possible point, with children and young people with SEN and their parents fully involved in decisions about their support and what they want to achieve. It is anticipated that this will lead to better outcomes, and more efficient ways of working.

If you have any queries regarding our SEND provision or you have a child with SEND, please do contact Mrs Jenkins who will be happy to assist you and your child.

Please find information for admissions in our Admissions Policy, you can find this by following the link below.

Nurture Provision

Nurture provision offers a short term, focused, early intervention strategy, which addresses

barriers to earning arising primarily from social, behaviour, emotional or well-being difficulties,

in an inclusive and supportive manner.

Mrs Gavin, who runs our Nurture provision ensures that the nurture group environment is designed to be welcoming and safe, to support pupils in developing relationships with their peers and teachers, to develop their self esteem, and to have a greater understanding of and

ability to express their emotions.

EHC Plans

For children with more complex needs, a coordinated assessment process and Education, Health and Care plan (EHC plan) will have now replaced statements.

Children on the SEN register who do not qualify for an EHC plan are deemed to be requiring 'SEN support'.
